Customers should be aware that the old Pulse Service Telephone Network (PSTN) is being phased out throughout Europe and OpenEIR (not to be confused with Eir) are rolling out a new technology known as Multi Service Access Node (MSAN). We are advised by OpenEir that this should be seamless operation except for a short outage. Customers using their telephone line to communicate alarm signals are advised that they should test their alarms with the Alarm Receiving Centre after the switch over as there may be an impact on Fire/Intruder/Duress and Social/Medi Alarms.
